I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. We give you thanks, O God, for hands lifted in praise:
We thank you, God, for hardworking saints; Whether hard-hatted or steel-booted, wearing an apron or with dirt under their finger nails. Educators, Farmers, Office managers, Electricians, Business owners, Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents, Daughters. They left their mark on the earth for you, for us, for our children to come. Thank you, God, for the tremendous sacrifices made by those who have gone before us. Bless the memories of your saints, God, for they have shown us the way by walking it. May we learn how to walk wisely from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love. The Lord's Prayer (in Unison) Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We have put our faith in the loud voices of this world, ignoring your whispers. Forgive us, we pray. We do want to follow Jesus, the Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
