O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth. O Lord, we praise your name. O Lord, we magnify your name: Prince of Peace, mighty God; O Lord God Almighty. Responsive Reading from Psalm 8 Leader: Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; People: You put everything under their feet: flocks and herds, the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. All: Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Unison Invocation Heavenly Father please remind us this morning of your majesty, the creation, and your amazing grace. Prayer is the burden of a sigh, the falling of a tear, the upward glancing of an eye, when none but God is near. O Thou, by whom we come to God, the Life, the Truth, the Way: the path of prayer thyself hast trod; Lord, teach us how to pray! Message “Teach Us To Pray” Luke 11:1-4 Hymn “ The Lord’s Prayer” Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Kneels at the feet of his friends, silently washes their feet, Master who acts as a slave to them Jesu, Jesu fill us with your love, show us how to serve the neighbors we have from you. These are the ones we should serve, these are the ones we should love; all these neighbors to us and you. The Communion Service The Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. Prayer of Confession and Pardon Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. Forgive what our lips tremble to name, and what our hearts can no longer bear. Through the cross, set us free from a past that we cannot change. Through the resurrection, open to us a future in which we can be changed. Grant us grace to grow more and more in your likeness and image, through Jesus Christ, the light of the world. Amen. Hear the good news; Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. That proves God’s love for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Bread and Cup The Lord be with you And also with you. Let us give thanks using the words Jesus gave us: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be they name. Thy kingdom come, they will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. AMEN. Commitment Hymn: “Sent Forth by God’s Blessing” UMH #664 vs. 1 Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing, the people of God from this dwelling take leave. The supper is ended. Oh, now be extended the fruits of this service in all who believe. The seed of Christ’s teaching, receptive souls reaching, shall blossom in action for God and for all. Your grace shall incite us, your love shall unite us to work for your kingdom and answer your call. Unison Benediction* May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you wherever he may send you. May he guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm. May he bring you home rejoicing at the wonders he has shown you.
