Interlude: “Father I Adore You”     by Terrye Coelho

CALL TO WORSHIP
Calling Song  “ Let All things Now Living”  2008 TFWS
Let all things now living a song of thanksgiving
to God our creator triumphantly raise,
Who fashioned and made us, protected and stayed us,
who guides us and leads to the end of our days.
God’s banners fly o’er us;
God’s light goes before us, a pillar of fire shining forth in the night,
Till shadows have vanished and darkness is banished,
as forward we travel from light into light.

Responsive Call to Worship   (from Psalm 25)
Leader: To you O Lord, I lift my soul
People: O God, in you I trust.  Let me not be put to shame.
Let not my enemies exult over me.

Leader: Let none that wait for you be put to shame.
People: Let them be ashamed who are clothed in treachery.
Leader: Lead me in your truth and teach me.
All: For you are the God of my salvation.  For you I wait all the day long.

Leader:  Please join me in the Unison Invocation
O God, you pour out your spirit of grace and love.  Deliver us from cold hearts and wandering thoughts, that with burning zeal and steady minds we may worship you in spirit and in truth.  Amen.

Hymn “Take Time To Be Holy”    #395 Hymnal
Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in him always, and feed on his word.
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing his blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus, like him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in they conduct his likeness shall see

Take time to be holy, let him be thy guide,
And run not before him, whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow, still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in his word.

Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul,
Each thought and each motive beneath his control.
Thus led by his spirit to fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.

Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Scripture Romans 12: 1-8

Message “But What Do You Do With Oatmeal?” Roxie Tolbert

Commitment Hymn     “Take My Life and Let I t Be”  #399 UMH
Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.

Take my voice and let me sing always, only, for my King
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect , and use every power as thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it thine;  it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is thine own;  it shall be they royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at they feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee.

Benediction:
May the peace of the LORD Jesus go with you wherever he may send you.
May he guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm.
May he bring you home rejoicing at the wonders he has shown you.
May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.
