SCRIPTURE READINGS Matthew 14:22-36 Romans 8:37-39 MESSAGE “The Three Most Important Things” Jay Whitcomb PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. CLOSING HYMN Please follow along with the accompanist and sing together Why should I feel discouraged? Why should the shadows come? Why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home? When Jesus is my portion, my constant friend is he His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches Me. Let not your heart be troubled, His tender word I hear, And resting on his goodness, I lose my doubts and fears. Though by the path he leads me, but one step I may see His eye in on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches Me. Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise, When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies I’ll draw the closer to him, from care he sets me free. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches Me. BENEDICTION May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm on your face. May the rains fall softly on your fields, and until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand. POSTLUDE: “Leanin’ on the Everlastin’ Arms” by A. J.
