CALLING SONG  “I Come With Joy”  #617  United Methodist Hymnal
I come with joy to meet my Lord, forgiven, loved and free,
In awe and wonder to recall his life laid down for me,
His life laid down for me.

I come with Christians far and near to find, as all are fed
The new community of love in Christ’s communion bread,
In Christ’s communion bread.

As Christ breaks bread and bids us share, each proud division ends.
The love that made us makes us one, and strangers now are friends,
And strangers now are friends.

And thus with joy we meet out Lord, His presence always near,
Is in such friendship better known;  we see and praise him here,
We see and praise him here.

Together met, together bound, we’ll go our different ways,
And as his people in the world, we’ll live and speak his praise,
We’ll live and speak his praise.

RESPONSIVE READING :   Psalm 61:1-5
Leader: God, listen to my cry; pay attention to my prayer!
People: When my heart is weak, I cry out to you from the very ends of the earth.
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I am
Leader:  Because you have been my refuge, A tower of strength in the face of the enemy.
People:  Please let me live in your tent forever! Please let me take refuge in the shelter of your wings!
Leader:  Because you, God, have heard my promises; You’ve given me the same possession as those who honor your name.

UNISON INVOCATION:
Gracious and Loving God, we come before you this morning with praise. Praise for another good day, praise for life, praise for a wonderful world that sustains us in these times of anxiety and concern. We praise you even when we cannot be together as a worshiping body. Bless us as we worship in our separate places, as we turn our hearts to you. Be especially with those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit.  Give us hope this morning as we turn to you. As the Psalmist says, may we seek shelter in your wings? Open our hearts, open our minds to hear the movement of your Spirit here with us.  Amen.

HYMN:   “Thy Word is A Lamp”  #601  United Methodist Hymnal

Refrain:  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.

1.  When I feel afraid, and think I’ve lost my way,
Still you’re there right beside me,
And nothing will I fear as long as you are near.
Please be near me to the end.  Refrain:

2.  O will not forget your love for me
And yet my heart forever is wandering.
Jesus, be my guide and hold me to your side,
And I will love you to the end.  Refrain:

PASTORAL  PRAYER

SCRIPTURE:  Proverbs 2:1-11  CEB

MESSAGE:    "Peace in a Time of Anxiety"      Rochelle Killett

COMMITMENT  HYMN  “I Have Decided To Follow Jesus”   #2129  The Faith We Sing
1.  I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
No turning back, no turning back.

2.  The world behind me, the cross before me,
The world behind me, the cross before me,
The world behind me, the cross before me.
No turning back, no turning back.

3.  Though none go with me, still I will follow,
Though none go with me, still I will follow,
Thou none go with me, still I will follow,
No turning back, no turning back.

BENEDICTION:
May the peace of God go with you wherever God may send you.
May God guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm,
May God bring you home rejoicing as the wonders God has shown you.
May God bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.
