October 3, 2021 – 11:00 AM Welcome and Announcements “The Family of God” I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God I've been washed in the fountain Cleansed by His blood Joint heirs with Jesus As we travel this sod For I'm part of the family, The family of God Hymn: How Great Thou Art UMH 77 all vs. O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy power throughout the universe displayed. Refrain: Then sings my soul, my savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art! When through the woods and forest glades I wander, and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze; And when I think, That God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the Cross, My burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin. When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow in humble adoration and there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art! Responsive Reading from Psalm 27 Leader: The Lord is my light and my salvation - People: whom shall I fear? Leader: The Lord is the stronghold of my life - People: of whom shall I be afraid? Hymn: The Church’s One Foundation MH#545 vs. 1,2,5 The church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord; she is his new creation by water and the Word. From heaven he came and sought her, to be his holy bride; with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died. Elect from every nation, yet one o'er all the earth; her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, one birth; one holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food, and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued. Yet she on earth has union with God the Three in One, and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won. O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee. Message: But We See Jesus Hebrews 1: 1-4 and 2: 5-11 Communion Hymn: Let Us Break Bread Together UMH#618 all vs. Let us break bread together on our knees, let us break bread together on our knees When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. Let us drink wine together on our knees, let us drink wine together on our knees. When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. Let us praise God together on our knees, let us praise God together on our knees. When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, have mercy on me. The Communion Service Our Lord invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Let us confess our sin before God and one another. Prayer of Confession and Pardon Merciful God, We confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. Our faith has been tested and we have stumbled. Our feet have strayed from the path of Christ and we have wandered from you. We have put our faith in the loud voices of this world, ignoring your whispers. Forgive us, we pray. We do want to follow Jesus, the Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. Bread and Cup Closing Song - Teresa’s Prayer Christ be in my mind and in my thinking, Christ be in my eyes, in everything I see, Christ be in my ears and in my hearing, Christ be in my mouth, in every word I speak, Christ be in my heart and in my loving, Christ be in my life, each moment that I live. Benediction May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you wherever he may send you. May he guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm. May he bring you home rejoicing at the wonders he has shown you. May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors. Postlude Thank you for Worshiping with us today! (CCLI License #1552544)
