Welcome and Announcements

Gathering Hymn:    "This is the Day"  UMH #657
This is the day, this is the day.
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made.

Responsive Reading from Psalm 47

Leader: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
People: Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountain shake in the heart of the sea;
Leader: Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble with tumult.
People: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High,
Leader: God is in the midst of the city which shall not be moved; God will help it at the dawn of the day.
All: The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; God’s voice resounds the earth melts.

Unison Invocation

Earth and heaven respect the sound of praise. Glory to God who is highly exalted in all the earth. Amen

Old Testament Reading:                                                 Psalm 40:1-5
New Testament Reading:                                         Hebrews 13: 13-17

Hymn:  "Rejoice, the Lord is King"   vs 1-3  UMH #715
Rejoice, the Lord is King!
Your Lord and King adore;
Mortals give thanks and
sing, and triumph evermore;
Lift up your heart,
lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

Jesus, the Savior, reigns,
the God of truth and love;
When He had purged our stains
He took His seat above;
Lift up your heart,
lift up your voice;
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.
O Lord, we praise your name.
O Lord, we magnify your name:
Prince of Peace, mighty God;
O Lord God Almighty.

Hymn:  Come, We That Love the Lord"   vs.1,2  UMH #732

Come, we that love the Lord,
and let our joys be known.
Join in a song with sweet accord,
join in a song with sweet accord,
and thus surround the throne,
and thus surround the throne.

Refrain:
We’re marching to Zion,
beautiful, beautiful Zion.
We’re marching upward to Zion,
the beautiful city of God.

The hill of Zion yields
a thousand sacred sweets,
before we reach the heav’nly fields,
before we reach the heav’nly fields,
or walk the golden streets,
or walk the golden streets.
[Refrain]

Benediction
May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you
wherever he may send you.
May he guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May he bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders he has shown you.
May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.
