Hi Everyone! February 15, 2024
I’ll start with a sincere thank you note directly from Shane Wright. “Thanks for supporting me in Special Olympics. We have a good time. I think someone I know will win the truck.” And from me, thanks Church Family for always stepping up. MariLynn Ogburn became an official member last Sunday. If you haven’t met her yet, make sure you do. Welcome MariLynn! The Ad Board will meet this coming Monday, Feb. 19th at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to this meeting. The Trustees will not meet this month. Why not join our pastor for coffee on Monday? She will be at Bordertown Coffee on Monday from 9-12 just waiting for you to come by and have coffee or tea with her. She will even buy! Did you know that Easter is only 45 days away? Please consider donating some wrapped Easter candy and/or prizes. We have the plastic eggs but will need candy to fill them and prizes to award. The Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, March 23rd from 1-3 p.m. Save the date because we will need help! Lifeline Screening will be using our church next week on Wednesday. I still have discount coupons available. I heard this morning that the funeral for Don Essinger will be on Saturday, March 23rd at Fruitland UMC at 11:00 a.m. The funeral for Jean Stephan has been changed to Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m. Payette First Baptist Church will be holding their 24th Annual Soup Lunch on Sunday, February 25th benefiting Payette Senior Center Meals on Wheels from 12:30-2:00. They will be taking donations at the door. I put a poster on the bulletin board. We have some praises this week. I’ll start with Serenity Wren’s praises. I love it that she recognizes and shares her praises with us. She won 2nd place in her dance recital! Great job Serenity! She also shared that her grandpa rescued a cat that was in the clutches of a dog. That means a lot to her. Brandon Baumler shared with us that he is in the process of legally adopting Camryn. Brandon has been a dad to him from the beginning, but this will make it official. Please keep Brandon and Camryn in your prayers during this process. Don’t mention this to Camryn until it is official. Brandon has another praise. His friend has a new baby daughter, Delilah born last Thursday. We also have some prayer requests. Keep praying for Glenora’s son in law Jim who is home from the hospital but still has a few medical concerns. Pastor Mary Beth’s mom Nancy is still experiencing nerve pain following her back surgery which is normal but it still hurts. Keep her in your prayers. Hugh Homan is in the hospital with RSV. He was pretty darn sick but is doing some better. Doris came down with it too but wasn’t hospitalized. Pray for them both. James and Pastor Mary Beth’s friend in Arizona, Susan has been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Please keep Susan and her family in your prayers. Lyna asks that we keep her friends Jerry and Cheryl Bunker and Barbara Olson in your prayers. Continue to pray for Anne DeBord, Leslie Olson, Irene Jeffries, Pam Hardenbrook, Lis Williamson, Jenny, Tory, Josh, Jan, Shannon Osborn and Letha Essinger. One of our praise songs for this Sunday will be Lord, I Need You. We have sung it before but it has been a while. You can click on the blue link and listen to it. The other one we are familiar with, Come As You Are. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. We hope to see you on Sunday. Blessings, Cris
