Welcome and Announcements
Welcoming the Light of Christ – please light a candle

CALL TO WORSHIP
        Musical Interlude
        Ringing of the church bell

Calling Song     “Father, I Adore You”   TFWS #2038
Father, I adore you,
Lay my life before you;
How I love you.

Jesus, I adore you…

Spirit, I adore you…

Responsive Excerpts from Psalm 33
Leader: Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong;
For like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
People: The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.
Leader: Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret – it only leads to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
People: The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.
Leader: Consider the blameless, observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace.
All: The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord. He is our stronghold in time of trouble.

Unison Invocation
Almighty God, you have made yourself know to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Right now e really don’t know what to do except come to you.
We humbly ask that you would make yourself known to us in such a way that will know your will and your way. We offer our prayers in the name of Jesus, the Christ.
Amen.

Hymn     “Holy, Holy, Holy!”        UMH #64

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
Perfect in power, in love and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord, God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.
Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Prayers of the People
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

Message      “In Those Days”   Acts 6:1-7

Response to the Word
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church,
the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

The Communion Service
Communion Hymn  “Open Our Eyes Lord”    TFWS #2086
Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch him, and say that we love him.
Open our ears, Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus.

Our Lord invites to his table all who love him,
Who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another.
Let us confess our sin before God and one another.

Prayer of Confession and Pardon
Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart.
Our faith has been tested and we have stumbled.
Forgive us, we pray.
Our feet have strayed from the path of Christ and we have wandered from you.
Forgive us, we pray.
We have put our faith in the loud voices of this world, ignoring your whispers.
Forgive us, we pray.
We do want to follow Jesus, the Christ, in whose name we pray.
Amen.

Hear the good news;
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. That proves God’s love for us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
Thanks be to God!

Bread and Cup
Please take the bread.
Please take the cup.

Please pray:
Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery
in which “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”
Strengthen us in mind, body and soul for the days ahead.
May your Spirit fill us as we live and pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Commitment Hymn      “Walk with Me”    TFWS #2242

Walk with me, I will walk with you
and build the land that God has planned
where love shines through.

And when you share your faith with me
And work for life made new,
The witness of your faithfulness
Calls me to walk with you.

Walk with me, I will walk with you
and build the land that God has planned
where love shines through.

Benediction
May the peace of the Lord Jesus go with you
wherever he may send you.

May he guide you through the wilderness,
protect you through the storm.
May he bring you home rejoicing
at the wonders he has shown you.

May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors

Thank you for Worshiping with us today!

It is a blessing to be alone/apart/together with our christen church family every Sunday morning. A special thank you for all of you that take the time to make this happen for us. And thank you to the Trenkel’s who make beautiful music together!
