Welcome and Announcements
Welcoming the Light of Christ

CALL TO WORSHIP
Responsive Reading from Psalm 46:1-7
Leader: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
People: Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its water roar and foam and the mountains quake.
Leader: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
People: God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at the break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
All: The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress!
Leader: He is risen!
People: He is risen indeed!

Calling Song                   “Surely the Presence of the Lord”
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place;
I can feel his mighty power and his grace.
I can hear the rush of angels’ wings, I see glory on each face.
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.

Unison Invocation
Heavenly Father, long ago faithful women proclaimed the good news of Jesus’ resurrection, and the world was changed forever. Teach us to be like them, that our witness may be as bold, our love as deep and our faith as solid. We come before you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Hymn                             “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”
Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens and earth reply, Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once he dies our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where’s thy victory, boasting grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies! Alleluia!

Old Testament Reading               Ezekiel 36:24-28
New Testament Reading             Acts 10:34-43
He is risen! He is risen indeed!

Offering our gifts and tithes
Offering prayer:
Gracious, giving God, we acknowledge your faithfulness. We confess that there have been times when we have not trusted you and have believed our doubts. Lord, your grace is sufficient and these gifts are given in light of that belief. Through Jesus we pray. Amen.

Children’s Moment

Hymn                       "He Is Lord”
He is Lord! He is Lord!
He is risen from the dead and he is Lord!
Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord!

Prayers of the People

Message                “Risen!”                         Matthew 28:1-10

*Commitment Hymn                   “Up from the Grave He Arose”
Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior;
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!

Refrain
Up from the grave he arose, with a might triumph o’er his foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior;
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!

Refrain

Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!

Refrain

Benediction
God be with you ‘til we meet again;
by his counsels guide, uphold you,
With his sheep securely fold you;
God be with you ‘til we meet again.

God be with you ‘til we meet again;
when life’s perils thick confound you,
Daily manna still provide you;
God be with you ‘til we meet again.

God be with you ‘til we meet again;
keep love’s banner floating o’er you.
Smite death’s threatening wave before you.
God be with you ‘til we meet again.

He is risen! He is risen indeed!
