In the church calendar, we have entered the season of Lent. The point of Lent is to remember the 40 days Jesus spent in the wilderness while he was fasting (and he was tempted). This season also recalls the events that led up to Jesus' crucifixion. Lent lasts around 40 days (excluding Sundays) between Ash Wednesday and Holy Saturday. The color for this season is purple, which symbolizes royalty.

May the God of grace and glory go with you as you follow this Lenten path. Wherever it takes you, and to whomever it takes you, may you go with the blessing of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, both now and forever.
And now God, send us out to do your work. Invite us deeper into your world. Stir our hearts to outward focus, to seek those we often ignore. Help us focus on freedom and generosity; help us embody your justice and peace. Amen.

Monday Morning Coffee With the Pastor this week at Bordertown Coffee in Gayway Junction from 9-12.
 
The Ad Board will meet tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting. The Trustee Committee will not meet this month.
 
Save the date for our Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 23rd. We will need wrapped candy to put inside the plastic Easter eggs and some prizes. Please donate if you can. Start bringing them soon. We will need help that day!
