Hi Everyone! April 3, 2025
I’m back at work full strength and happy to be feeling lots better. I appreciate the kind words and prayers from you. I’m not a big fan of pneumonia and I hope to never get it again. This is the week when we start collecting food for our local food bank that is operated out of the Nazarene Church in Payette. I have a tub ready to go in the entryway so bring food if you can. Let’s help out our neighbors! If the first Sunday doesn’t work for you, the tub will be there every day and will be collected towards the first of each month. Come early this Sunday if you can and help us stuff Easter eggs. We can finish after church if need be. We still need more candy to stuff in the eggs. Bring some with you to church if you can. We are pretty close on prizes. Bring prizes you have but don’t buy any more. Our Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 12th from 1-3. There is sign up paper on the table in the entryway for those who can help. Please plan to arrive by 12:30 to help. It will be lots of fun! Last year our Easter egg shirts were taken by someone who thought they were up for grabs. Weird huh? If you have a PUMC shirt please wear it that day so folks know who they can ask for help. We will be having a Good Friday service on Friday, April 18th at 7:00 p.m. Annie and Danny Crego are celebrating their 9th wedding anniversary this spring. Congrats to them! Pastor Mary Beth passed the first Praxis test and will get the results from the second one any day now. Great job Mary Beth! Carmen Kumagai is thankful for her work friends who showed up to help get Grace’s home ready to sell. We received news from the Hershey family this week. Pascal’s mom passed away in Holland a few days ago. Pascal was with her when she passed. Please keep Pascal’s family in your prayers. Lyn Hershey has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. It is a glioma that is hopefully low grade and non-cancerous. Lyn will see a neurologist soon and will know more then. The place where the tumor is in a place that would be a risky surgery so that might not be an option. Lyn is not in pain but is experiencing mild seizures, some confusion and a short-term memory loss. Lyn, Jeanie and the whole family ask that we pray for Lyn. I assured them that we will. I had a nice visit with Ed Parsons today. He is in hospice care now. He is comfortable and has good people taking care of him. He says he has good days and bad but he is OK. He doesn’t have to go to doctors’ appointments now. All of his care comes to him. Give him a call when you can. Keep Ed and his family in your prayers. We received the news this morning that Ruby Cramer passed away. She was part of the Ontario UMC and began worshipping with us after they closed. Please keep her husband John and the whole family in your prayers. I got the news that Bonnie Hall had a bad fall and broke her upper arm. She is in a lot of pain. Please pray for Bonnie. Brandon’s kids’ Great Uncle Dennis has started chemo and radiation. Please pray for Dennis. Mike and Bonnie Hall’s good friend Pat Smith recently had a hysterectomy where some cancer cells were found. Please pray for Pat as she fights cancer and recovers from major surgery. Please pray for Doris Homan as she recovers from pneumonia. There sure are a lot of prayer requests this week. Please be faithful and pray for these loved ones constantly. As we heard on Sunday from our pastor, God’s faithful love surrounds us. Blessings, Cris
