Hi Everyone! February 27, 2025
I told you that spring was right around the corner! The melting snow and sunshine make me happy. If we didn’t have winter, we wouldn’t appreciate spring. That’s what I’ve always told myself anyway. We noticed that Caldwell didn’t have any snow a few days ago so we must have been the lucky snow people. I want to clear up something I said in the newsletter last week about Danny. In June at Annual Conference he will be commissioned as an deacon. It’s not any more or less impressive than what I said, I just want to be correct. It’s a big deal. When the time comes, we will make sure you can view the ceremony at the church and support him in that way. If you’d enjoy a drive to Salem, you can go in person because we are all invited. If you are interested in being a delegate to Annual Conference, please tell our pastor. We need someone to fill the role. Weiser Little Theater’s new play is ready to go! They will be presenting Bedlam & Breakfast starting April 10th. The dinner performance will cost $30 and the dessert only play will cost $20. These plays are always so great. The poster is on the bulletin board. Get your tickets quickly! Just google Weiser Little Theater and click on the ticket link or call (208) 549-9355. Leave a message and they will call you back. We will pass around signup sheets on Sunday for greeters/ushers and liturgists. Please sign up if you can. Pastor Mary Beth will take her Praxis exam on Thursday. She will pass this test as part of the teacher certification process. Please keep our pastor in your prayers Thursday afternoon. Ron Hershey is having gall bladder surgery this morning. (Thursday) Pray for a successful surgery and a quick recovery. Deanna Carr asks us to pray for her friend Barb Harlan’s mom. She is 95 years old and has a bad cold. Please pray that it stays minor. Lyna Wilkins’ nephew Todd has been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Please keep Todd in your prayers. Keep praying for Lyna’s cousin George and his family. Lyna’s friend Charles lost his only daughter because of an aneurism last week. She leaves behind two sons one of whom is disabled. Please keep this family in your prayers. Shane Wright had a follow up with the doctor about his broken foot on Tuesday. He will have to stay in his boot for three more weeks and then will be checked again. Pray for patience for Shane and his mom! Ed Parsons was feeling well enough to drop by the church last Thursday to donate some lawn supplies and fold the bulletins. It was great seeing him. Keep him in your prayers. Danny Crego asks us to pray for him. He is in a season of transition. Pray for guidance and success for Danny. Please keep praying for our country and world. We are going through challenging times, and prayer is the way to go. Keep these folks on your prayer list: 2nd grader Emma, Voni King, Gary Olson, Chuck Kinney, Irene Jeffries, Grace Hammon, Lis Williamson and Dennis. Our sermon on Sunday was from 1 Corinthians 15:35-38 and 42-50. If you missed it, I encourage you to read these passages. This is what I took away from it. God promises the resurrection so that’s what he will do. Life is worth living and we must always look for hope! That’s all good news! Blessings, Cris
