Hi Everyone! February 20, 2025
I will start this letter with excellent news this week! Our own Danny Crego passed his interview with flying colors and will be ordained in the Methodist Church in Salem, OR in June! Danny has been on quite a journey but remained faithful and kept his eye on the prize. We think his ordination will be lived streamed from Salem and if so, we can meet at the church and watch it. Great job Danny, we are proud of you! Nick Tompkins graduated Air Force Basic Training in San Antonio, Texas last week with his parents David and Laura there to witness it. Great job Nick! He is now at Shepard Air Force Base in Texas attending technical school. Keep Nick in your prayers. Sheri and Rodger Hood’s relative Meegan for whom we have been praying has beaten cancer! She rang the bell last week. Thanks everyone for your faithful prayers. Amen! (I just love starting a letter with good news!) The March/April edition of the Upper Room is available in the entryway. If you need help getting one, please let me know. On Sunday we had a glitch with the sound on Pastor Mary Beth’s greeting and sermon. We could see her but couldn’t hear a word. We still aren’t sure what happened. So, here’s what happened next. Danny Crego stepped up and covered the whole service including an excellent sermon. We are so lucky to have Danny in our church family. We have some prayer requests this week. Gary Olson will begin radiation treatments for prostate cancer in Fruitland soon. Keep Gary in your prayers as he fights this battle. Shane Wright is getting around well in his boot and we hope his foot is healing. He will have a checkup soon to find out. Keep him in your prayers. Lyna’s cousin George is in hospice care and is very weak. Please keep George, his wife Leslie and their family in your prayers. Brandon Baumler’s kids’ Great Uncle Dennis was able to come home last week after his jaw surgery but then experienced bleeding and was taken to a Boise hospital for time but is now back at home. Keep Dennis in your prayers. I heard from Anne DeBord that Deanna fell a few days ago and is banged up. Keep Deanna in your prayers. Don’t forget that we will have a delicious lunch after church this Sunday. The men will be serving Kalua Pork, scalloped potatoes and green beans. The women will have an ice cream bar ready to go. A basket will be put out for donations. Have a great rest of the week and we hope to see you on Sunday. Blessings, Cris
