Hi Everyone! May 28, 2025
Yes, it’s an unusual Wednesday newsletter. I will be out of the office for a couple of weeks because I’m having knee replacement surgery tomorrow (Thursday). The office will be in the very capable hands of Pastor Mary Beth assisted by Glenora. If anything comes up, they are the ones to call. If you just need to get in the building, our AA group is here between 11:30 and 1:00 every weekday. I’ll start with some good news today. Pastor Mary Beth announced on Sunday that she will be teaching first grade in Caldwell next school year at Sacajawea Elementary! I have seen her at school and it definitely is a good fit. Congrats MB! Our little Brigit is sporting her first tooth! I noticed before the parade that she was working on it so I wasn’t surprised. Ron and I went to Salt Lake City last weekend to see our daughter Tess and to help my sister and niece get ready to move to St. Louis. Tess’ dog Link is starting to use his legs! He even scratched his ear with his back leg while we were there. There is good news about Kayson, the little boy who had kidney cancer. His tests show that all the cancer was removed with the kidney! Amen to that but keep him in your prayers as he recovers. We have some prayer requests this week. Anne DeBord had a bad fall last week and hit her head hard on concrete. She was taken to the hospital, had tests and was able to go home that night. Keep Anne in your prayers as she recovers. Doris Homan had a mild “silent” heart attack last week. She was hospitalized but is home now and sounded pretty chipper on the phone yesterday. Keep Doris in your prayers. Connie Jones’ little granddaughter Oaklynne spent five days in the hospital with pneumonia last week. She is only two years old. She is recovering at home now with her mom and dad. Connie said this to us, “Thank you for praying for Oaklynne from the bottom of our hearts. We are truly blessed with our tribe.” Lyna is asking for prayers for her cousin Gary. He is trying to buy a house in the Chicago area and is having a difficult time finding one. My niece and nephew Diane and Rick will be on the road today moving from Salt Lake City to St. Louis, Missouri. They will be caravanning together driving a moving truck and a car. Please pray for them Wednesday through Friday. Keep these folks on your prayer list: Ed Parsons, Lis Williamson, Grace Hammon and Jo, Irene Jeffries, Megan Palmer, Weston Tuckness, Lyn Hershey, Bonnie Hall and Annie’s mom Katie. This Sunday we will be collecting food for the food bank that runs from the Nazarene Church. Please bring some nonperishable items if you can. The tub in in the entryway. I’ll be back with you in a couple of weeks! Blessings, Cris
